About Us Our Philosophy Our Teachers Our Programs Contact Us News

Champion approaches test preparation with the same principle that governs our general tutoring: everyone is different and has a unique way of processing information. Your child will be paired with a trained teacher carefully selected by us to best complement his/her learning style. All of our test prep is one-on-one, designed to reinforce the fundamental verbal, mathematical and writing skills that are critical to success on any standardized test. Each week, your child’s teacher will assign a practice test to be completed at home under timed conditions. Together, they will review these graded exercises and discuss a number of strategies aimed at maximizing performance on the big day.

For nearly fifteen years, our established program has enabled a great many students to achieve or exceed their goals, which in turn has increased their chances of acceptance into the competitive college of their choice.

As always, we are happy to design an individualized plan of your choosing; however, we also acknowledge that repetition and consistency are the most effective paths toward score improvement. For this reason, we recommend one of two programs:

  • Six-week: student meets twice weekly, once with a Math tutor and once with an English tutor.
  • Twelve-week: student meets once per week (for six weeks) with an English tutor, and then continues with a Math tutor for the second six-week period.

With a staff of 15 SAT instructors, we can offer a wide variety of days and times to accommodate your child’s academic, athletic and extracurricular schedule. Champion abides by a pay-as-you-go policy, allowing parents and students the flexibility to seek tutoring based on individual needs rather than the commitment to a fixed set of sessions. For SAT prep, the only resource we strongly recommend is The College Board’s Official SAT Study Guide, as it contains actual questions from past tests; our aim is to limit material costs only to those which will also assist your child outside our walls.

Because our facility grows extremely busy in the spring semester, we encourage you to call soon to reserve a spot for your child, or to set up a free consultation. You may also email us to ask any questions.
