SAT-Verbal Workshop
About Us Our Philosophy Our Teachers Our Programs Contact Us News

Following on the success of Champion’s SAT Math “Boot Camp,” we are now offering a comprehensive overview of the SAT Verbal. This workshop is ideal for students who have not yet begun their SAT prep, or who are just getting started. The one-day course runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (with a 30-minute lunch break), and will introduce every section of the SAT Verbal: sentence completion, passage-based reading, identifying and correcting sentence errors, and the essay. Danielle DeRise, Champion’s Director of Education and an experienced SAT tutor, has designed this workshop to highlight the most frequently occurring types of SAT Verbal questions, and to help students learn to group these questions together into familiar “categories.” She will also present a variety of effective test-taking strategies aimed at improving time management and overall score performance. By the end of the afternoon, each student will have created his or her own individualized study plan for future test preparation, to be completed on their own or with a tutor.

The workshop will be offered throughout the Fall semester, and again in 2010. The next class will meet on:

Saturday, October 10, 2009, 10:00 am–1:00 pm

Please call or email our office if you have any further questions, or if you would like to register your child for the class. Space will be limited to keep the student/teacher ratio low, and to foster a casual learning environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions.
