Champion’s goal is to teach students different methods of approaching academic material for maximum content retention. Students will learn how to efficiently survey textbooks and take structured notes that allow for consistent and powerful review of difficult material. Students will also learn to create a schedule for reviewing course material. The tutor will focus on developing the student’s writing, word knowledge and vocabulary.
Champion’s Study Skills program was developed by one of our senior Humanities teachers, James Walsh, (alas, he is heading abroad to teach) and is designed to be customized for the individual learning needs of each student. We begin the process with a free consultation in which parents and students are encouraged to discuss the academic challenges they would like to address, and to set concrete goals for the upcoming academic year.
